Refined black and white engagement editorial

It’s important to find time to just “play” with flowers, to serve as a reminder of why you love your work. This way you continue to love what you do, and your work doesn’t become just a job.

My favorite way to unleash my creativity is to put together an editorial shoot with some of my favorite wedding vendors. For this shoot we were inspired by modern black and white elements, and a refined bridal jumpsuit. We designed this whole shoot as if it were an engagement dinner with a beautiful table scape, hanging floral installation, and bouquet. I chose ceramic vessels in shades of white and grey to keep with the modern and refined style. The table top flowers consisted of Anemones, foxglove, and chocolate cosmos. I also love adding unexpected elements to my arrangements, so I foraged some natural pampas grass from the side of the road and tinted it with white floral spray to match the style and to add texture.

I think my favorite part of the shoot was the unexpected floral installation. We had originally planned on arranging the smilax greenery to climb up the wall behind the table, but last minute decided a hanging installation would work way better ,and I’m so glad we did! I seem to create some of my best work when I’m under pressure or when last minute changes are needed.
